Traffic light with arrow signals

The prerequisite for using traffic lights with arrow signals is that the trajectories of vehicles moving at the intersection in the direction indicated by the arrow signal do not intersect trajectories of other vehicles or pedestrians moving in the direction permitted (conflict-free regulation).

The sequence of illumination of signals is as follows:
1) green – flashing green (if any) – amber – red – red and amber at the same time – green. Flashing green or amber signal may also be followed by a green signal;
2) only flashing amber signal.

A countdown timer may be incorporated into traffic lights beginning with 2, indicating how many seconds are remaining until another signal illuminates.
