the sequence of illumination of signals is as follows:
1) green – flashing green (if any) – amber – red – red and amber at the same time – green. Flashing green or amber signal may also be followed by a green signal;
2) only flashing amber signal.A countdown timer may be incorporated into traffic lights beginning with 8, indicating how many seconds are remaining until another signal illuminates.
